Full Job Description

This is a job based on a Self Employed basis.

Are you someone with a 'safe pair of hands' who is looking for a change of scenery and wants to find job security that matches your reliability?

We have the opportunity for you to join a small and growing business that could offer you a committed team to play an important role in, that has your back. Read on.

We are a local, family-run waste management company looking to add a Waste Technician to our team to give us more hands on deck, help us get rid of more waste and get to the next level as a business with big ideas.

About the Company

We're here to make people's lives as easy as possible. Whether it's house clearances to help someone move or just get back on top of things, people's appreciation is what fuels us. And when we do it correctly and with sustainability in our mind, we also create a greener future for the North East.

That's why we take our disposal responsibilities so seriously, ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly. Our team is knowledgeable about local regulations and guidelines, and we want you to be too. We want you to feel like a real expert on all things waste, recycling and sustainability. When you grow, we grow.

About the role

The role is very hands on, disposing of commercial and domestic waste, so there's no 'fluffing this up' - things can get messy. This will suit the right person, as no two days are the same. The places, properties and people we interact with are constantly changing, and we have to react in a way that helps us get the job done. Correctly and quickly.

This job requires an individual who:

· Is extremely conscientious and cooperative.

· Is good with detail and takes their duties seriously.

· Follows company rules and directions to the letter.

· Is a perfectionist, wanting to check everything personally to make sure it is done right.

· Is very accepting, cautious and deliberate in their approach.

· Makes a point of avoiding friction with others.

· Is a very good team member who will be careful about making decisions.

· Can maintain a balance between being sociable and analytical.

· Can work with people, yet does not require a lot of stimulation from others.

· Can maintain a balance between being patient yet restless.

· Can work with routine and yet still show a sense of urgency at times.

If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you! We are used to getting lots of applications for this role and as a small, busy business we don't have the time to go through every application and respond personally (unfortunately!), so please ONLY APPLY IF YOU QUALIFY below:

· A current UK Driving License with less than 6 points

· Aged 30+ due to insurance reasons

· Able to work full-time (40 hours), with some weekends when projects require

To be successful in this role, here's what you will be able to evidence in your interview having accomplished before:

· Doing jobs that weren't particularly glamorous, but were very important

· Succeeding as part of a team

· Playing a specific role in a team and clearly contributing to project success

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills with both team members and clients

· Setting priorities within a specific task you were asked to complete

· Work situations encountered where strict adherence to policies and directives were expected

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have knowledge and/or skills in the following areas:

· Waste disposal

· Recycling

· Furniture/large item removal or moving
