Full Job Description

Join our team at Purton Vets as a Veterinary Surgeon on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. We're seeking a skilled and enthusiastic professional to become part of our small, supportive team.
As a Veterinary Surgeon at Purton Vets, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of consulting and surgical tasks. Your typical day may involve a mix of consultations and operations, with occasional instances where independent work is required. While our clinical team is always there to provide support, we value individuals who can collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Nestled in a picturesque village with a vibrant community, Purton Vets offers a fantastic work environment surrounded by pubs, restaurants, leisure facilities, and scenic walking trails. Just under 20 minutes away lies the Cotswold Water Park, providing ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.
At Purton Vets, we prioritise the emotional well-being of our patients alongside their physical health. We are proud to be a silver certificate cat-friendly clinic and ensure that our practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to deliver high-quality care. Our team comprises 4 dedicated vets, qualified nurses, an animal care assistant, and a reception team who share a close bond, often socialising outside of work.
We are committed to ongoing professional development and regularly host specialist clinics, particularly in Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy. Adopting a Fear Free approach, we strive to create a calm and comfortable environment for our patients. Additionally, we actively support the local community through various initiatives, including attending local events, providing raffle prizes for charity events, and delivering school talks.
If you're passionate about veterinary medicine and share our commitment to excellence and compassion, we'd love to hear from you. Join Purton Vets and become part of a team dedicated to providing outstanding care to our patients and supporting our local community.

This would be a full time role which would include working Saturdays on a shared rota basis.
