Full Job Description

Would you like to join a first opinion practice that delivers the best care possible for their clients? We are looking for a talented Veterinary Surgeon to work within our dynamic team to help us to continue to strive for excellence.

We have very easy links for getting into London, with the perks of living in the countryside.

We are a practice who strive to always do the best that we can for our team, our patients, and our clients. We encourage the whole team to come forward with ideas to improve our clinical practice and working environment, so if you want to work in a collaborative and supportive environment, then we could be the practice for you. We are looking for an additional Veterinary Surgeon to support the aims of the practice to continue delivering the highest level of care to our patients and clients.

We have excellent clinical facilities which include a state-of-the-art in-house lab which is supported with Zoetis Imagyst, ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, a range of anaesthetic monitoring machines, plus fully equipped for both rigid and flexible endoscopy.

We pride ourselves in performing primarily laparoscopic ovariectomies as standard, as well as offering laparoscopic cat spays, laparoscopic cryptorchid castrates and laparoscopic liver biopsies. We can offer this service for pets 1.5kg-75 - a much bigger scope than the majority of practices. We are keen for any new vets to learn this skill.

Elands Veterinary Clinic is proud to be supported by VetPartners, who enable us to invest in the practice and in our team. Certificates are supported for those who want to go further into a particular area. Rebecca currently holds a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a medicine bias, but is also a keen surgeon.

Salary starting from £35-47k depending on experience.

  • Full-time - 4 days per week (40 hours: 8.30am-7pm)

  • Participation in 1 in 3 or 4 Saturday morning rota (time returned in lieu)

  • No OOH

  • Your role will involve all aspects of clinical work, working within a team supported by Clinical Director Rebecca and Practice Manager Saija who is responsible for the non-clinical aspects of the management role and Head Nurse Emma Barty who provides excellent support.

The successful candidate ideally will have some experience, but we would like to speak to all candidates as you will be joining our team not just our practice.

You would be working with our existing clinical director Rebecca and 2 other vets and with a strong RVN and support team.

    Package also includes:

  • Generous £1750 & 5 days CPD allowance (more if a certificate holder).

  • RCVS & VDS fees paid plus one professional membership of your choice (eg BVA/BSAVA etc)

  • 6.6 weeks paid holiday (including Bank Holidays)

  • Health Shield - wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments, from dentistry to sports massage

  • Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and surrogacy pay

  • Generous discount on veterinary fees

  • My Benefits - various discounts including retail & gym memberships

  • Cycle to Work scheme

  • Company sick pay

  • Annual pay reviews

  • Focus on employee wellbeing
