Full Job Description

We are a retail sales operation, selling all makes and models of cars, Campervans, Motorhomes, Minibuses & Light Commercial Vehicles.

As a Vehicle Technician Apprentice with Anchor Vans Limited you will experience everything there is to learn in regards to repair types on almost every make and model of vehicle. We are also a Ford Authorised Repairer so our Apprentices will learn the exceptional specialist knowledge of the Ford brand.

Working alongside our experienced team, our Apprentices working week will include duties such as:

  • Assessing and diagnosing faults/repairs on a variety of vehicles

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on vehicles as required

  • Liaise with customers and colleagues on the situation and progress of vehicle repairs

  • Attend Newbury College one day a week during Term Time


  • The training you will be getting

  • You will receive on site experience working alongside our trained technicians and will also attend Newbury College one day a week during Term Time where you'll complete a mixture of Theory and Practical based lessons/work

  • The Apprenticeship Standard you will be completing is Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (ST0033)

  • As well as support and mentoring from your colleagues in the workplace, you will also have teaching staff and a Development Coach from Newbury College who will monitor your progress and support you throughout your Apprenticeship

  • You will have regular reviews and will be required to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) before you can achieve the Apprenticeship

  • On completion of the Apprenticeship you will have achieved the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard

  • Apprentices without a GCSE Grade 4/C in English and/or Mathematics will need to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills prior to completing their apprenticeship

We have four positions available across our sites and are looking for apprentices who are self motivated, keen to learn all aspects of becoming a fully qualified vehicle technician, and someone who is comfortable talking to a wide range of customers., Communication skills, Customer care skills, Eager to Learn, Good Initiative, Basic Mechanical Knowledge, Interest in Mechanics, Common Sense, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C or higher) Desired

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4/C or higher) Desired

    Apprentices can be paid the Apprentice Minimum Wage for the first year of their apprenticeship. After the first year, an apprentice must be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age bracket.
