We have an exciting opportunity for a keen, highly motivated, caring individual to join our small, friendly team of specialist urogynaecology nurses within the Women and Newborn Care Group at Princess Anne Hospital.

Urogynaecology is a subspecialty of gynaecology. It covers services that provide assessment, investigations, and treatment for women with urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, and pelvic floor injury following childbirth. It links with obstetrics, urology, colorectal and mesh services.
We are seeking a passionate dedicated nurse to support our team of urogynaecology doctors and nurses, utilising their clinical, teaching and leadership skills to help develop this service and drive forward initiatives. We are seeking a nurse who possesses excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills along with a positive and caring attitude.
The service runs from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, the applicant needs to be able to work flexibly within the service hours. On average we see 40 patients per day and the department receives consistent praise from patients and visitors that use the service., The role will involve, but not be limited to performing the following: Assessment, planning and implementing programmes of evidence-based care for urogynaecology patients.
Support will be given to enable you to gain full knowledge and skills in vaginal pessary fitting and management of the overactive bladder.
You will gain skills in the management of voiding dysfunction, teaching intermittent self catheterisation and bladder instillations for bladder pain.
You will be competent in performing urodynamic studies or have motivation to undertake training and successful completion of an external Certificate in Urodynamic Studies.
You will understand urogynaecology, and work within the urodynamic nurse-led clinics.
You will be responsible for providing the safe therapeutic management of a defined patient caseload.
You will assist in the development of nurse led initiatives as part of the service developments to improve patient experience.
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and collaboratively with related specialties.

You will have a Degree in Nursing or evidence of degree level study, 120 credits at L6, or possess an equivalent knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant specialist training, experience, or portfolio.
Preferably, you will have post qualification experience in urogynaecology, gynaecology or urology although this is not essential.
You will possesses excellent communication and leadership skills.
You will be working as part of a team and under own initiative, gaining skills in clinical reasoning and decision making.
