Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an individual with passion for the industry into our growing team. This role would be assisting 3 investment managers.
This work will largely involve assisting in the management of client portfolios. Working with investment managers, the individual will be tasked with preparing client review presentations, taking an active part in team investment discussions and once qualified, rebalancing portfolios. The individual should be comfortable taking control of various projects, maintaining a keen attention to detail throughout all tasks., As a Trainee Investment Manager you'll be part of a team, aiding the client experience, with your roles including but not limited to: Producing investment proposal documents Preparing client review presentations and data Taking an active part in team investment discussions Once qualified to a sufficient degree, rebalancing client portfolios Processing payments and using your discretion as to where to raise cash or invest new funds Monitoring team investment models Distributing valuations, tax packs and periodic commentary You'll be working very closely with our clients and their agents to provide the best service with information and reports regarding their portfolio, which necessitates close relationship building with our stakeholders whether that be internally or externally.
As your role is central within the team you'll also be assisting in the general administration, these duties are varied daily but usually consists of answering the phones, preparing PowerPoint presentations, preparing suitability letters and maintenance of suitability affirmations. You will be required to facilitate the smooth opening of new accounts and assist Investment Managers preparing for client meetings.
Core competencies: We use the Microsoft Office suite on a daily basis so a good understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary. The individual should be comfortable using Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, IF and SUMIF (for example) and be willing to learn more in order to streamline their role. An understanding of Macros and Pivot tables would be beneficial.

You have an interest in financial services or have a good understanding of our financial services where you can utilise your knowledge and experience within investment management. A good level of communication skills is required.
Ideally you already have a Financial Qualification such as the IAD and are working towards the CISI Wealth Management Qualification (or equivalent).
