Full Job Description

To provide comprehensive information, employer advice and guidance to individuals with disabilities who live independently in the Doncaster area and have been assessed as needing Direct Payments/Personal Health Budgets to support them.

You will be working across our Doncaster contract, providing excellent, proactive and high quality customer services at all times via a range of communication methods showing empathy, and understanding, for the specific needs of the customer.

This is a remote working role involving some travel to visit our clients in and around the Doncaster area. On a full time basis this role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We welcome applications for part time hours. (The salary will be prorated for part time hours.)

Your Responsibilities:

  • To engage with DP Holders, via a home visit if necessary, to discuss direct payments/personal health budgets and the responsibilities of a direct payment/personal health budget holder

  • To provide information, advice and guidance on employing staff ensuring DP Holders understand their responsibilities as an employer, including as part of a Duty rota, liaising with payment services where necessary to obtain solutions for the DP Holder

  • To recruit Personal Assistant's for DP Holders or to add to the PA Register

  • To support DP Holders to complete relevant paperwork and documentation

  • To signpost DP Holders to appropriate resources and support services

  • To support direct payment/personal health budget user with calculation of financial budgets

  • Maintain accurate audit trails for customers, including record keeping within relevant databases/systems

  • Where relevant, to ensure the DP Holder is safely referred to Purple's Payment Services team and made aware of their responsibilities in relation to this service

  • Collate and prepare information to inform monitoring and metrics

  • Liaise with relevant health or social care professionals and all stakeholders, attending meetings as required to complete the direct payment process

  • To be aware of any potential safeguarding issues, and ensure correct safeguarding processes and procedures are followed, As a trainee EAG Officer, there will be some requirements arrange and attend home visits to the DP Holders in and around the Doncaster area. The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a motor vehicle, which is insured for business use.

    Eligibility to work in the UK

  • MUST have the ability to commute in and around the Doncaster area

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences in a variety of different ways

  • Ability to actively listen and accurately record data/information

  • Ability to assimilate and disseminate complex information in an understandable way

  • An ability to be flexible, creative and productive when finding solutions

  • To be able to self-motivate and use initiative, as well as working effectively as part of a team

  • High overall standard of report writing, numeracy and computer literacy

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities·


  • Desirable
  • Experience of working in an advisory role, with a track record of working with individuals to facilitate informed choices

  • General employment law knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Social Care Systems

  • Knowledge of basic recruitment and retention safe practice

  • Experience of supporting DP Holders with disabilities

  • An understanding of direct payments and personal health budgets, working in a health and social care setting: 1 year (preferred)

  • working in an advisory role facilitating choice: 1 year (preferred)

  • communicating with a range of audiences in different ways: 1 year (preferred)

  • report writing with attention to detail: 1 year (preferred)
