What you'll be doing

- You will be designing and overseeing the installation of telecommunications equipment and facilities.
- Participate in and lead fault finding and troubleshooting investigations for emergent equipment reliability issues.
- Provide timely technical advice and corrective WOC's to support to maintenance teams.
- Provide technical supervision on complex systems (including technical contracts)
- Provide written advice to support safe reliable operation including technical advice notes and extended unavailability reviews, etc.
- An awareness of relevant legal and regulatory framework, internal quality management system and compliance requirements ensuring that all activities are carried out with full regard to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and company standards.
- Safety Case awareness and author/verifier for Cat 3/4 Engineering Changes
- Participation in Continuous Improvement activities including adverse condition and equipment failure investigations.
- General input to team business plan and ability to build networks, negotiate and influence effectively.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple projects from low complexity to high-risk projects and tasks.

You will be an Engineer with a drive to identify and resolve risks with a focus on safety, quality, time and cost.
- You will have the ability to think dynamically, balancing multiple inputs to deliver an optimised output.
- You will have a track record of delivering improvement projects under demanding operational pressures without impacting quality.
- You would like to work with other like-minded engineers and technicians to achieve safe, reliable performance of plant systems on a complex Nuclear Power Station.
- You must hold a HNC or equivalent
- candidates with a relevant degree may have an advantage.

We have an exciting opportunity at Heysham 2 Power Station to join our highly skilled and motivated Engineering Department as a Telecoms Engineer.
The Opportunity
At Heysham 2 the Engineers have a fundamental role in providing a strong technical conscience to the rest of the power station, identifying and escalating risks based on plant performance and developing standards both within and outside the company in order to improve the reliability of the power station plant systems.
Some of our opportunities also involve oversight of planned maintenance being completed to schedule and resolving emergent faults in a safe and timely manner.

We're offering a salary of £40,069 - £71,779 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification. We also offer an attractive pension scheme along with some great company benefits! This is a full-time position, however we will be happy to discuss options regarding part time flexibility, if you would like to highlight this on your application.
