Full Job Description

As a Technical Business Analyst within the Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions.

Major objectives

The primary objectives of this role are:

To ensure proper support for all projects and continuous improvements from a business analysis perspective at key points in their lifecycle.

To evolve the business analysis capability within the PMO and support its vision of becoming an enabling business partner to the organisation.

To undertake the duties of a Functional Business Analyst, with a focus on developing technical solutions that align with the organisation's processes, systems, and needs.

To support strategically relevant projects with high-quality business analysis, capturing and articulating business requirements across the organisation.

To produce technical specifications, artifacts, and data-driven insights to support decision-making while considering the needs of students, training providers, employers, and the community.

Expertise in functional/technical business analysis techniques, system design, process modelling (BPMN), and impact analysis models (POPIT).

Knowledge of project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid) and ability to explain how technological solutions meet business needs.

Proficiency in producing technical artifacts, documentation, and using data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, R, and Python.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and process analysis tools like Visio.

Ability to read/understand code for effective communication with development teams is desirable.

Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder influence skills across all organisational levels.

Understanding of long-term and short-term perspectives, with independent working and time management capabilities.

Problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.

Substantial experience in functional/technical business analysis, delivering analysis for major projects/programs.

Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, workshops, UAT coordination, cost/benefit analysis, process improvement, and options/impact analysis.

Professional Business Analyst certification (CBAP/PMI-PBA or equivalent)., Disability Confident
