In line with our leadership model, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a new post within the structure for a

Teaching and Learning Lead at Baxter College, reporting directly to the Headteacher. The Teaching and

Learning Lead will work closely with the Headteacher and Leadership Team to bring about a continuous improvement

in the quality of teaching and learning to ensure excellent outcomes for all students and a coherent approach to

student engagement and learning behaviours.

The core purpose of this role is to provide outstanding professional leadership, maintaining clear vision, purpose and

high expectations focused on raising student progress and achievement. The successful candidate will also work closely

with the Trust Learning Institute to research and develop best practice.

In line with the school development plan, there is an initial two year plan for the Teaching and Learning Lead to

include:

  • Embedding existing routines and policy


  • Monitoring and quality assure current processes


  • Build and develop the quality assurance of current practice


  • Using the findings to develop your CPD


  • Learning Behaviours/Engagement, collaboration and staff subject development. They will play a key role in ensuring that the continual improvement of the


  • quality of students' learning is at the top of the business agenda and will be responsible for developing the department

    to ensure its long-term success and sustainability.

  • A shared commitment to our values and to forming positive working relationships with our community


  • Experience of excellent and inspirational teaching from Key Stage 3 up to Key Stage 5


  • Commitment to their own professional development and a culture of open professional dialogue


  • Passion for combating social disadvantage and generating social capital


  • Enthusiasm for innovation in curriculum and assessment.
