Full Job Description

At White Rose Primary School, we have an exciting opportunity for a creative and dedicated teaching assistant to join our team to support every pupil to succeed.

We are looking to appoint highly committed and enthusiastic practitioners who will:

  • Support the learning of pupils in classes under the supervision and guidance of the class teacher.


  • Work 1-1 and in group situations with targeted pupils across the school.


  • Encourage and support pupils with additional learning needs.


  • Be a positive role model in terms of restorative behaviour and spoken language.


  • Work as part of strong team.


  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team.


  • Have experience of working with primary age children and an aptitude to work with groups of pupils of Foundation Phase.


  • Possess a sound understanding of the National Curriculum.


  • Be able to appreciate and support the role of other professionals.


  • Be prepared to participate in development and training opportunities.


  • Be able to work under the direction of the class teacher to ensure high quality learning takes place.


  • Work sensitively with parents to ensure the well-being of all pupils.


  • Ensure confidentiality at all times and procedures are adhered to.

    White Rose is a successful 3-11 primary school with approximately 240 pupils on role, situated in the well-established community of New Tredegar.
