Full Job Description

We have a position for an EYFS Teaching assistant either full time or part time to work in a Primary School in Carlisle. The school is a vibrant place with a dynamic friendly team. You will be working 1:1 with pupils and also in small class groups.

They have a large focus on SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs.The ideal applicant will be from either an EYFS background or have experience of working with Autism. We will offer you initial SEND training then more CPD training will be offered.

The role

  • To support the teacher in delivering personalised lessons for pupils with additional needs.

  • Ensure the learning environment is warm and nurturing.

  • To support and encourage the students to partake in their education.

  • Engage students in extracurricular activities and engage in creativity to keep the school day fun and enjoyable

  • Assist at break times

  • Work alongside therapists to support the students educational and mental wellbeing

  • Report back to the teacher and other 3rd party support bodies when required

    Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
