Full Job Description

Since its opening in 2003 as the second 11-19 school in the now six-strong Emmanuel Schools Foundation, The King's Academy has made exceptional provision for students in south Middlesbrough. Our vision is for each person in our schools to be valued, challenged and inspired, being 'made in God's image' and therefore infinitely precious, morally responsible and gifted for a purpose.

We require, from September 2024, a passion Geography at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and A level. Previous experience of teaching A level Geography is not a requirement but would be advantageous.

The geography department provides education to all students in Key Stage 3 with roughly half of each cohort studying the subject to GCSE. The department also offers A level geography. The department is led by the Head of Department and operates from four classrooms in our newest extension to the school that opened in January 2023. The department offers a range of field trips across year groups in the local area and further afield with the ambition being to introduce international field trips in the coming years.

If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in a highly inclusive school which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself and your students, please do contact us.
