Banbury Alliance PCN is a network of three medium-sized, partnership practices, serving over 27,000 patients and the smallest network in Oxfordshire. This gives us the advantages of excellent communication, co-operative working and agility of decision making, as well as all knowing one another really well.

  • Our catchment areas all overlap and are the market town of Banbury and surrounding villages. We are situated within 1.6 miles of one another. Banbury is a fast expanding area, currently undergoing an ambitious town-centre, canalside development. It has excellent sporting and cultural facilities, transport links and schools (state and independent) and yet sits in an area of stunning, accessible countryside.

We are team-orientated, patient-focused, learning-centred practices and are both excited and challenged by the opportunity to expand our multi-disciplinary teams, to include members working across practices within the PCN. We hope you will be too.

We are looking for someone to work closely with our care coordinator and other team members across our PCN to improve health inequalities and reduce deprivation across our PCN which consists of 3 GP practices and a total population of 30,000.

Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to link workers who give time, focus on what matters and to take a holistic approach to an individual's health and wellbeing, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.

Link workers also support existing groups to be accessible and sustainable and help people to start new community groups, working collaboratively with all local partners.

It is particularly beneficial for people with long term conditions, for people who are lonely or isolated or frail or have complex social needs which affect all aspects of their life.
