Shipping Controller Team Leader

We are currently seeking an Shipping Controller Team Leader with the Flavours Shipping Team.

The Shipping Controller Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating the efficient and timely shipment of all export orders in their area of responsibility, as well as providing support and supervision to the Shipping Team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the allocation of home /export orders and the shipping of UK orders, dealing with any queries that cannot be addressed at delivery level, ensure all orders that can be shipped are shipped at the end of each day. Encourage partnerships with the hauliers to gain the best services for our customers


• Provide supervision to the team including managing absence, Return to Works, the PMP process, as well as supporting any training needs.


• Assist in any projects as requested.


• Ensure all orders are invoiced and cleared for month end.


• Be the first point of contact for issues and queries and resolve them where possible.


• Provide support/cover to the Warehouse/Logistics Manager when out of office.


• Complete and support the team on closing customer complaints and investigations.
  
  Professional knowledge of European road freight and deep-sea shipping.


• Proven Team Leader skills


• Ability to work to tight deadlines


• Excellent prioritisation, organisational, change management and interpersonal / communication skills


• Good IT skills including Excel and Word.


Preferred (optional):

• Qualification in People Management.


• Qualification in shipping


• Qualification in customer service


Required Experience:

• Experience within an Export shipping environment


• Experience within SAP


• Experience of shipping hazardous material and Hazard trained for shipping by Air, Road and Sea


• Good understanding of people management
