Full Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Statistical Programmer to join our Data Insights Team using SAS Programming and related technologies, will be involved in all aspects of the Analysis, Development and Integration process. This includes Analysis, Design, Coding, System and User Testing, Problem resolution and Planning of SAS Applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Technically focused and working directly with Project team members to produce quality output and deliverables.

  • Participates and understands business requirements and technical requirements, seeks clarification to unclear requirements, follows standard change control and configuration management practices and conforms to departmental application development standards and systems life cycle.

  • Review the implementation of the business requirements and support independent quality reviews.

  • Plan and Lead the development of project-related solutions to the full scope of Statistical Programming tasks.

  • Perform and Plan quality control checks for the source data and report the data issues periodically.

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in conduction with internal project teams and independently bring project solutions.

  • Perform and plan the development, implementation and validation of new process technologies, macros, and applications.

  • Produce data listings, summary tables and graphs using SAS software.

  • Import and export SAS data. Importing SAS Code, Deploying and Scheduling Jobs and Metadata promotion.

  • Develop medium to high complexity metrics through Agile Approach and delivering a highly optimized solution.

  • Provide training and mentoring to team members, exhibit routine and occasionally complex problem solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively multiple channels(Verbal, Written, etc., ) with technical and non-technical staff.

    Experience in Clinical Environment, familiarity with the Drug Development Life Cycle.

  • Experience in SAS/Base, Advance SAS Programming, SAS/Stat, SAS/Graph, SAS/Macro, SAS/SQL, SAS/ODS.

  • Experience in Clinical SAS Programming, SDTM, creation of submission package, Data Manipulation, Analysis and Reporting of Clinical Trial Data.

  • Experience in creating Analysis files, Tables, Figures and Lists(TFLs) and SAS Datasets.

  • Solid understanding of the data conversion development and implementation process

  • Experience in Linux OS, UNIX, Shell Scripting

  • Experience with Patterns and Technologies in emerging areas such as Storm, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Big Data JSON, NoSQL Databases, Virtualization Tools and Advanced Analytics.

  • Experience in Release(promote) process, Batch Support(Daily, Weekly, Monthly) and strong SQL/SAS debugging skills.

  • Experience in ETL development using SAS Data Integration Studio, skilled in various DI transformations including, Look-up, Transpose, Sort, Append, Rank, List Data Validation, Table Loader, Merger, Split, SQL SCD Type 1 and Type 2 Loader, Data Validation, Creating Custom Transformations.

  • Experience in Databases such as Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server, Teradata.

  • Experience in atleast one Cloud platform such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform

  • Experience in SAS EG, and other Statistical Software Packages such as R, Python, or SPSS is a Big plus.

  • Good knowledge of Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium((CDISC), Study Data Tabulation Model(SDTM), Analysis Data Model(ADaM) standards and the principles.

  • Good Organizational, Interpersonal, Leadership and Communication skills.


  • Education Required:
  • Applicants must be graduated to S/NQF6 (Degree Level) or above or a minimum of a bachelor's degree In Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Mathematics / Science, Arts, Engineering or Business Administration.
