Full Job Description

As the Senior Product Manager you lead our Accounts Foundation & Core product cluster. Reporting to the Head of Product, you'll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.

The Accounts Foundation & Core cluster includes the following product areas:

  • Pricing & Billing

  • Reconciliations

  • Treasury Accounting

  • Regulatory Reporting

  • You will lead a team of 3 to 4 Product Managers, each of whom will be accountable for their own products success. You will also be accountable for the Treasury Accounting product which enables ClearBank to track its highly complex financial positions in near real time and report on them to ClearBank's regulators.

You are passionate about building products and leading the way to promote a product led culture. You have worked in the fintech industry, ideally within a payments area of product and have an art to describing core problems, telling the story of what we should work on and why, as opposed to being feature driven.

Together with the Head of Product and your engineering partner, you will create a strong Product Vision & Strategy for your cluster and evangelise it with stakeholders throughout the bank.

And you'll be joining the #14 fastest-growing tech company in the UK, according to Deloitte Fast 50.

As the Senior Product Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Championing your product cluster with your engineering partner and SME stakeholders

  • Creating and evangelising a powerful product vision and strategy for your product cluster

  • Setting clear annual objectives and track progress through quarterly key results

  • Leading product working groups and steercos to ensure that all your stakeholders are aligned with your planning and progress

  • Devising product roadmaps and budgets in conjunction with your team, owning individual items, to achieve the overall product vision and goals

  • Working closely with cross functional teams, understanding the problems to solve and the reasons on why

  • Leading RFPs from a Product perspective, ensuring that we have the best tools and services for now and the future

  • Leading multi-departmental requirements workshops, ensuring that each workshop clearly articulates the desired outcomes and facilitate the workshop in such a way to ensure that the outcomes are met

  • Ensuring the Operating Models and existing processes are fully updated and aligned to the functionality of your product by coordinating relevant activities

  • Liaising closely with ClearBank's customers to run collaborative workshops with the aim of understanding Customer needs and demonstrating the ability to embed real-life use cases within the overall product design

  • Working with ClearBank's commercial teams to produce relevant literature outlining ClearBank's payments functionality and support knowledge sharing to ensure that the commercial team are suitably knowledgeable around the product's capabilities

  • Staying up to date with the market news and trends, feeding them into your product design

  • Managing competing demands from within ClearBank and effectively prioritise the work in a fast-moving environment

  • Managing risk effectively as the product is designed, working with key stakeholders and governance to match the bank's appetite to risk prior to launching products

People management experience in a Product environment

  • End to End product management experience and ability to work independently

  • Ability to identify requirement patterns and devise strategic solutions which enable more scale

  • Good understanding of accounting and reconciliation best practices

  • Good understanding of operational processes and needs

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and innovative idea generation

  • Great time-management and ability to meet deadlines

  • Good understanding of finance and building business cases

  • Fantastic interpersonal skills and delving into the real customer problems

  • A continuous improvement mindset and focus on delivering value

  • Strong understanding of Agile Development methodologies, and previous experience of working within Agile Teams
