Full Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Platform and Infrastructure Specialist to join us on a 12month fixed term contract. This role will be a senior role driving forward our network support, ensuring an outstanding service to the organisation, focused upon resolving a range of technical incidents and requests in the network connectivity and telephony area, and continually driving improvement of this service to our internal customers.,

  • Colleague Networks - internal groups where colleagues and their allies can share their own experiences, offer feedback on the way we do things at Greggs, and provide support to one another, This is a full-time based role on a 12 month fixed term contract, based at Greggs Innovate House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EW

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

    You will play a critical role in making a step change to the technical expertise we can leverage for our customers and to the internal teams when engaging with them around incidents and requests.

    You will fit right into this role if you:
  • Have significant experience of managing large scale WAN/LAN/Wireless networks across a large number of locations, including service provider management and engagement.

  • Can demonstrate extensive experience of networking technologies and approaches, including firewalls, VPN, WAN technologies, and VLSM

  • Have strong working knowledge in SDWAN technologies

  • Have strong working knowledge of telephony systems, in particular SIP telephony

  • Have a proactive can-do attitude with a clear bias towards ownership and results, and will enjoy contributing towards an adaptive, fun and creative environment

  • Have experience of building trust and highly effective working relationships with a diverse range of technical and none technical stakeholders

  • Have extensive customer facing experience in a support environment


  • Are aware of key service management processes and metrics, and their purpose


  • It would be advantageous if you had any of the following:
  • Experience of working in a large retail environment

  • Experience working with Meraki networking equipment, in particular Meraki MX Gateways

  • Experience working with Cisco networking equipment

  • Experience of IaC technologies, such as Ansible and Terraform
