Full Job Description

We are currently hiring an experienced Senior Management Accountant (Systems Expert) to join our Corporate Services team in Hartlebury, UK on a permanent basis to support the next exciting steps in our growth. This important role will be key in our development of our finance & payroll systems and support new projects / initiatives in our Aviation business in the UK, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. We offer genuine opportunities in advancing our use of integrated systems and Artificial Intelligence to streamline our business processes for the next phase of our expansion.

This position will report directly to the Groups Resource Services Financial Controller., The Senior Management Accountant (Systems Expert) will work as part of the Corporate Services senior management team, assisting the Financial Controllers and CFO in the formulation and implementation of company strategy for integrated accounting & payroll solutions. They will also have residual capacity to be responsible for all aspects of financial management & reporting of a number of our resourcing businesses based in the UK, Germany, Spain or Switzerland. The latter ensures the development of an in-depth knowledge of our business processes and finance & payroll requirement that will be invaluable in helping to develop and implement new solutions that will harnessing the latest developments and features in the market such as emerging AI., In addition to carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required, they will also perform the key tasks below: ·

  • To support and lead elements of the implementation of new payroll and finance systems, as required, in team projects and initiatives. This will include advancing detailed knowledge and technical expertise to develop existing/new payroll & finance systems and features.·

  • Help evolve the Group's use of emerging Artificial Intelligence in payroll and accounting systems to reduce inefficient/cumbersome or labour intensive/repetitive tasks that can be automated or streamlined.

  • To help develop and maintain financial procedures for the businesses.·

  • To oversee the preparation of regular sales / gross margin reports and the monthly management accounts for sign-off normally within 10 working days of the month-end for at least two subsidiaries.

  • Ensure effective communication of business performance, investigating any unexpected results or adverse outcomes compared to budgets / forecasts or previous periods with Resource Services FC and senior management.

  • Provide Insightful analysis to assist in business decision making including customer or activity margin analysis.

  • To ensure all Balance Sheet Control Accounts are reconciled before commencing the production of the Management Accounts / Complete month-end checklist·

  • To have a lead role in the production of budget, forecasts, cash flows and statutory accounts.·

  • To manage the process of monitoring systems and process compliance across the business, submitting returns to third parties including Governments and tax authorities (VAT etc.).·

  • To recommend improvements to the financial control systems (preventative and detective) operated by the Company. This will include reviewing systems performance, identifying issues and managing new solutions/upgrades with the IT department. Designing and implementing internal system controls to provide quality assurance over financial data. ·

  • To protect the assets of the business by ensuring the safeguards in place are effective, relevant and operating and the financial data provided to the business is quality assured.·

  • To understand and apply multi-currency discipline to transactions / reconciliations / reporting·

  • To monitor and control conformity across the business to our financial policies and procedures using your analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve these issues effectively and recommend adjustments to the Group's workflows and policies.·

  • Support the Resource Services FC in monitoring and improving the treasury, forex management, profits and tax positions of the businesses.·

  • Develop and support junior team members in improving their knowledge, attention to detail, technical skills and qualifications

    Minimum of five GCSEs including English Language and Math with a minimum Grade 5 (strong C) or above

  • Further education with at least three A-Levels, or equivalent with a minimum grade C

  • Higher education with a recognised University Degree or equivalent with a minimum standard of 2:2

  • Qualified or almost qualified/studying towards a formal Accountancy Qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA preferred other professional accountancy qualifications may be considered subject to experience)


  • Experience:
  • Experience in PQE (Aviation Industry experience preferable but not essential)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle conflicting workloads, prioritise and multi task.

  • Good Customer Service focus.

  • Ability to think laterally and solve problems particularly using the latest developments/new technologies

  • Strong financial accounting and reporting experience ideally in a training, service or recruitment environment.

  • Advanced Excel skills & good Microsoft Office skills. Ideally experience in using a project management tool

  • Generating efficiencies through system implementation/streamlining in accounting and ideally payroll systems

  • Experience of multiple accounting or payroll packages such SAP, Exchequer and Abacus
