Full Job Description

You will work as part of our Trust Safeguarding Team delivering excellence in safeguarding practice for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

You will have the opportunity to develop your safeguarding skills and gain experience in training, supervision and all matters related to safeguarding with full support from the safeguarding team.

You will be able to work without direct supervision, and will provide advice, support and guidance to staff in relation to safeguarding.

You will work alongside the Named Nurse for Children and Named Professional for Adults to develop the safeguarding think family' approach as neither children, young people, adults and their families and carers exist or operate in isolation across Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust services.

The role also involves the leadership and development of effective multi agency partnerships to raise awareness of the agenda at all levels.

We would also encourage applications from individuals with a lived experience of mental illness, either individually or as a carer.,

  • Specialist Practitioner qualification in nursing, social work or allied profession with current registration

  • Training that demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Significant experience of working with vulnerable families across a range of settings.

  • Extensive experience of involvement of multi-agency safeguarding work with families where there is a range of complex issues.

  • Experience in the development and delivery of training.

  • Good knowledge of community care, NHS and other applicable legislation.

  • Knowledge of current issues affecting safeguarding practice.

  • be able to confidently challenge practice and support colleagues.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train and inspire others.

  • Flexible approach to working.

  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of supporting equality and valuing diversity in the role.

  • Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs, Experience in providing safeguarding supervision

  • Experience of undertaking research / audits
