Reconciliations Team Leader

  • Fantastic opportunity to work within a high profile team

  • Brand new role within the business so an opportunity to develop new processes

  • Hybrid working with 2 days per week in our Stratford upon Avon office

  • About the role

Just over 80 people work with us here in Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services and, it's fair to say, our remit is a varied and very important one.

We have seen year on year growth which has led to the need to recruit a reconciliations Team Leader to work within our Central Services team. We are a busy, friendly and service orientated department and we're looking for a Finance professional from within financial services or General Insurance.

This pivotal role involves leading and developing processes to ensure all account queries are resolved with precision and efficiency. You'll liaise with our billing centre to address discrepancies, guaranteeing that statements are settled promptly and accurately. While the role does not encompass direct payment responsibilities, it is crucial for ensuring that insurer statements are meticulously verified and reconciled with our systems, enabling us to fulfil our commitments to suppliers.

As a Reconciliations Team Leader, you will work with our Agency department, finance team, and internal stakeholders to foster strong collaborative relationships. Your role will also involve working alongside the external credit management team to scrutinise insurer entries and partnering with underwriting to amend entries when necessary. A significant part of the role will be to assess the current processes and spearhead the development of new, efficient and robust workflows to improve efficiencies for all stakeholders.

You'll bring a wealth of experience in finance, with a keen ability to interpret financial statements, ensure their accuracy and an ability to resolve discrepancies in statements. Experience in financial services is essential. An understanding of general insurance will be beneficial, and ideally, you will have a history of working within an insurer or brokerage environment.

People management experience is a must, along with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. You'll bring an analytical mind capable of reading trends and a thorough knowledge of UK regulations and consumer duty are also required.

To join our team, you must also have:
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Ability to negotiate and problem solve

  • Excellent time management skills
