Full Job Description

The successful applicants will receive a full training and induction programme at our workshop at Litchurch Lane. Main responsibilities will include

  • Responsible for all production tasks as depicted (Labourer, Painter, Shot Blaster, Fitter) and assist in other tasks where required.

  • To maintain good housekeeping and communicate clearly with colleagues.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved quality procedures, policies and standards.

  • Work in accordance with safety procedures, policies and systems including when using PPE and equipment.

  • Be responsible for ensuring all role specific documentation is completed and signed off.

  • Operate Equipment as directed and in accordance with procedures., To work on a wide variety of safety critical and rolling stock components such as - Air Reservoirs, Bogies, Brake Frames, Gangways, Fuel Tanks

    To be capable of working to detailed high quality fabrication procedures and drawings

  • Ability to problem solve

  • This role requires the successful applicant to work offsite when required and have a flexible approach with regards to the needs of the company


  • Preferred Skills / Experience
  • Shotblast

  • Paint Spraying

  • Full driving license

  • Good concentration levels

  • Good attention to detail

  • Excellent practical skills

  • Ability to follow written instructions and keep records

  • A safety-conscious approach to work, the ability to work alone and as part of a team

  • Good hand-to-eye coordination

    Remuneration
  • Start rate £13.25 per hour

  • After 3 months probation move to Pay Scale, Band 1 £14.25 per hour to Band 5 of £17.12 per hour

  • 33 days holiday (inc bank holidays)

  • Sick pay

  • Pension scheme

  • 37 hours per week average banked hour contract
