Full Job Description

Applications are sought for a Psychology Teaching Technician based at the Department of Psychology, School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences (SBBS), Queen Mary University of London. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support with running undergraduate and postgraduate research projects providing expert advice, training and trouble-shooting support.

The postholder will help to manage the Psychology experimental labs supporting final year undergraduate and post-graduate research project students with training, study setup and programming.

You should have General experience of practical and experimental work related to Psychology in a research environment and of programming experiments using software such as Matlab, Gorilla, PsychoPy. You will have knowledge of setting up on-line experiments and participation databases and experience in supporting the research process.

Experience of maintaining Psychophysiology, visual cognition, and of EEG/ERP software and hardware is desirable.

The School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences is one of five Schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. It is one of the largest Schools at Queen Mary University of London, with approximately 1800 students and over 100 academic staff members, who carry out excellent education, research and public engagement activities, with support from 27 administrative staff and c30 technical staff.
