Full Job Description

As a Production Operative at our Todhills site, you will be fully trained to work with our specialised tools and machinery which turn our raw materials into products ready for use in the construction industry.

You will get the chance to be hands-on with the day to day operations of our manufacturing site. You'll be operating various factory machinery and equipment, operating forklifts, and at all the time ensuring health and safety standards are met.

You'll be supported by the Team Leader to ensure our production flow is smooth, efficient and safe.

Load and unload various vehicles
Follow all Standard Operating procedures (SOP'S) and assist in reviewing these when required
Complete all relevant paperwork and reporting any problems regarding production immediately
Ensure you have the right knowledge for the task & that your work area is kept clean and free from obstructions and waste
Take ownership and responsibility for the area you are working in or task you are performing
Ensure you are aware and adhere to the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and at all times
Maintain a positive working atmosphere
Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve your efficiency
Actively take part in any training requested to enhance your role
Work safely at all times
Stock yard counting and factory cleaning tasks
Assist the Quality department
Hours of Work: 7.00am to 6.30pm (shifts)

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday

You'll be an experienced production operative, with existing experience from a hands-on manufacturing environment, and strong team playing skills.

You'll also have:

Experience within a manufacturing environment
The ability to work as part of a team within a target driven environment
Physically fit, as the role involves a significant manual handling and working outdoors in all weathers
Valid current RTITB, ITSSAR NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license with recent driving experience or previous experience operating mobile plant equipment
Appreciation of Continuous Improvement Production Processes
Knowledge of health and safety at work and good general safety awareness
Safety conscious with good general safety awareness
Adaptable
Be able to carry out a broad range of tasks across all areas of the manufacturing process
Good literacy - as there is some paperwork involved
Excellent attendance and time keeping
A can-do attitude and the drive to meet higher targets
An understanding of QA standards and the importance of achieving consistent high quality in manufacturing
