Full Job Description

Relish School Food are a Fresh Food company specialising in the education market (Primary, Secondary and SEN schools). Due to our growth we are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Relish Team providing catering services to our schools in Sussex (Bexhil, Bognor Regis, Bournemouth and few school in the Isle of Wight) .

You will play an important role in building our company culture by leading a successful team of inspiring Managers, providing them with clear direction and nurturing their management & leadership skills. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants to grow with a successful Company.

You will be a direct point of contact for our clients and managers whilst reporting to the Head of Operations and Operations Director. Your focus will be to drive sales through the delivery of our quality food services and execute all available commercial opportunities whilst managing budgetary performance. You will be responsible for around 20 contracts to look after.

The role will work closely with the current Operations Team who will offer an abundance of guidance, support and necessary training.,

  • The role:
  • Travelling across the region to assist in the delivery of our quality services and food offers, ensure legislative compliance and the control of operating finances.

  • Covering schools and bridging the gap between Head of Operations and Ops team when needed.

  • Ensuring sites are performing to the company operating standards whilst striving to maintain customer, client and employee satisfaction.

  • Providing a hands-on and a 'lead by example' approach wherever required to train staff, assist managers and carry out HR procedural duties upon request.

  • Leading, motivating and developing the operating teams using your skills and company resources.

  • Using verbal and written communication skills to liaise with our Head Teachers and Business Managers, meeting and working with school councils, presenting and demonstrating to parents and reporting to the Operations Management team within Relish.

  • Identifying and executing opportunities to grow sales and services on sites with the aid of our unique operating and procurement system.

  • Must be a positive and proactive leader who will think 'outside of the box'.

    Experience in educations sector is very desirable.

  • Previous Chef experience is a must.

  • Excellent trade skills- Passionate for food.

  • Proven work experience as an Operations Manager.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate & inspire.

  • Leads by example; does not compromise on brand standards.

  • Dynamic trainer, coaching and the ability to develop employee engagement and retention in all areas.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyse financial data and make sound business decisions.

  • Fully conversant with regulatory compliance and safety standards., Operations management: 3 years (required)

    3) If successful you will be shortlisted for an interview, if successful in interview you will be invited to stage 2 interview which normally involves a presentation and asked to do a trade test where you will be able to demonstrate your craft skills and wider catering knowledge.
