Competency and Values Framework
We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to join the Offender Management Unit (OMU), where you will manage and lead a small team to ensure the Force meet its statutory and non-statutory obligations in relation to the Management of Sexual Or Violent Offenders (MOSOVO).
You will work to deliver an exceptional service in the management of risk by ensuring best practice and standards are maintained, alongside driving necessary change and innovation with regards to working with partners both internally and externally.,

  • To lead, motivate and provide line management support including conducting regular reviews, fostering a supportive environment, and ensuring training remains up to date.

  • To review the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme applications (CSODS) at the initial application stage to determine relevance and whether next steps need to commence within relevant time frames. In addition to managing and reviewing associated processes to ensure National Best Practice is being followed.

  • To be the designated decision maker and recorder of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

  • To accurately record, assess viability, and manage statutory time frames for S91F requests (registered Sex Offenders who wish to be removed from indefinite notification requirements).

  • Manage the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) inbox and administrative functions of the unit and to attend MAPPA meetings.

  • To collate and present performance management data to key stakeholders.

  • To manage the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) case management system for MAPPA offenders as the Central Point of Contact (CPC) ensuring effective communications, decision making and timely responses with partner agencies and external forces.

  • To attend regional and national MOSOVO meetings and update the OMU on best practice.

    Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills and influencing ability.

  • Previous managerial experience with the ability to demonstrate leadership and team building qualities in a complex business area.

  • Experience in customer service and working with partner agencies.

  • A working knowledge of MAPPA or risk management within a Safeguarding arena.

  • A working knowledge of risk management IT systems, ViSOR is desirable., The nature of the work is very sensitive, as such, previous experience of working within a confidential environment and dealing with confidential and sensitive information in line with GDPR would be desirable alongside previous experience of working in a public protection environment.
