Full Job Description

This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced motivational interviewing (MI) practitioner who has a passion to share their knowledge and skills, coaching practitioners at all levels to improve their technique. A priority is working on site with the frontline teams so you will need to travel to different offices across the county e.g., Worthing and Chichester according to need in the services. We would anticipate you will work 1 to 2 days in the office per week, with flexibility to work at home on the other days facilitating online training sessions. There is no case holding in this role, and your work and diary will be self-directed.

We welcome applications from Social Workers, Nurses or alternatively qualified individuals who have experience in working with adults using MI to promote change.

Using MI techniques, you will work with the team to support good quality assessments and practice with families. These techniques give opportunities for families to consider the strengths they have in supporting children and enable them to 'think differently' in how WSCC can support their families in enabling children the best chance of remaining within their families and communities. Additionally, you will evaluate the impact of MI training and other learning and development activities, whilst providing regular performance reporting to line management and the Assistant Director. To understand the impact of MI across all services you will be supported in completing a needs analysis exercise to support the planning of delivery.

Are you able to support practitioners to develop knowledge and confidence in strengths-based practice?

Could you be a key member of the leadership team driving forward our 'Children First' improvement plan?

Do you enjoy travelling to different sites and working with different colleagues?, This post is subject to SWE registration, an enhanced DBS check, five years referencing and an occupational health check.
