Mechanical Design Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with and support the engineering team with Design

Engineering requirements. You will play a pivotal part in future and current product developments.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Producing accurate and detailed drawings from an initial brief through to a completed package


• Using Inventor primarily but also on occasion Solidworks and CREO CAD software and FEA capabilities to create 3D model assemblies and manufacturing drawings


• Working closely with and producing drawings for departments within the business


• Site visits for job surveys to assess machine viability


• Develop existing products, application driven modifications and possess the ability to help create innovative new equipment and industry specific solutions, for on-site machining and subsea applications


• Maintaining excellent relationship with client and project teams by telephone, email and face to face meetings
  
  Do you have strong engineering knowledge and are you capable of producing 3D models and manufacturing drawings?


• Do you have the engineering experience to understand exacting customer specific technical requirements and have an analytical approach to problem solving?, Preferably Engineer qualified to degree level, but consideration will be given to HND qualified candidates with experience


• CAD qualified and therefore the ability to 3D model, possess good technical engineering capabilities, assemble and produce 2D drawings


• A working knowledge of alternative CAD systems such as CREO, PRO Engineer, Inventor, would be most useful


• Have a clear understanding of engineering machinery, engineering standards, tolerancing and legislation


• Strong knowledge of producing working technical drawings, specifications and product operating & maintenance manuals


• Excellent organisational and administration skills including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines


• Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion


• Machining knowledge would be highly advantageous


• Strong MS user, competent with Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe, Bachelor's (preferred)


Experience:

• design software: 5 years (required)


• Design Cad Inventor, Solidworks, CREO: 3 years (minimum preferred)

  Based either at our Congleton, Cheshire Head office or at our facility in Aberdeen; the company employs circa 40 people and has a dedicated, strong engineering function which is pivotal to the business. The company is at the forefront in its field providing cutting edge technology to a wide base of customers. Due to imminent personnel changes the company has a requirement to recruit an experienced Cad Engineer / Design Engineer.
