Full Job Description

  • Contribute to further raising the eminence of the actuarial insurance practice in the market e.g. regularly presenting at industry actuarial conferences and Deloitte events for clients;

  • Managing teams on projects to successfully deliver outcomes for clients ensuring that the deliverables are produced in a timely way and are of the required quality;

  • Pro-actively identify, manage and mitigate risks to the firm on the delivery of complex projects;

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships internally within the firm and leverage these relationships to develop multi-disciplinary solutions for client requirements;

  • Play a leading role in developing and growing the team, identifying any skills/capabilities gaps and helping to fill them;

  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships across the industry to support the growth of our business

    Good knowledge of the life insurance industry, emerging trends and how we can help companies respond to these trends;

  • Understanding of 'what good looks like' around actuarial data (model points, assets, assumptions, results) and technologies which underpin this;

  • Experience of changing or implementing actuarial reporting processes, specifically Solvency II and/or IFRS17;

  • Experience of working with actuarial modelling software such as Prophet, Algo FM and Moses;

  • Competent in programming in a commonly used language / understanding of programming concepts and constructs such as VBA, SQL or Python;

  • Proven experience of leading teams on projects including Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Optimisation, financial reporting, with-profits work and audit work;

  • Advanced financial reporting experience including technical knowledge of the key Life insurance financial metrics (e.g. Solvency II, Embedded Value and IFRS reporting) and the application of these in various areas of actuarial work;

  • Computer Science or equivalent background

    Personal independence
