Full Job Description

RWS are a medium sized family business established for over 20 years and we are currently looking to recruit two Light Commercial Vehicle Technicians for a new 5 bay workshop that is currently under construction and due to be completed early September 2020. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business in a new facility. The main responsibilities of these roles will include, undertaking the service, maintenance and repair of all vehicle types from various manufacturers., Job Purpose: To undertake the service, maintenance and repair of all Light Commercial vehicle types from various manufacturers., · Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately

· Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade

· Conducting routine service & maintenance of all vehicle types

· Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customer problems and provide accurate repair recommendations

· Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, battery installations and headlight/taillight installations etc

· Inspect vehicles according to regulatory requirements for emissions and safety

· Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness

· Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records

· Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety

· Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the wearing of PPE and Health and Safety Policy.

· Confirm vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives

· Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.

· Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair

The successful candidates will hold a full driving licence and be a time served apprentice Vehicle Technician or equivalent, be able to use current electronic diagnostic equipment, be familiar with safe work practices in a workshop environment and be able to carry out work unsupervised whilst maintaining a high quality and safe standard of work in line with the job description.

Good interpersonal skills are also required to work with the current team of Vehicle and Body Repair Technicians., City & Guilds 1&2 or NVQ Level 3/4 Motor Vehicle Technician

5 Years minimum Motor Vehicle experience

Full driving licence
