We offer a range of learning and development for all employees may you be clinical or non-clinical., As a Lead Radiographer you will work closely with, and support the Breast Screening Management team to deliver a high quality, patient focused service, implementing new technologies and clinical developments with a focus on the symptomatic element of the service.,

  • The post holder will participate in the provision of a breast screening imaging and diagnostic service for both the West Berkshire Breast Screening Service and the Symptomatic Breast Service

  • Support the Breast Screening Service Manager in the management of the West Berkshire Breast Screening Service and the Symptomatic Breast Service

  • The post holder will have a complete understanding of the breast screening programme and symptomatic breast service, and be able to provided highly specialist advice on all aspects of the service

  • The post holder will be required to work within the Radiology Department, the Breast Screening Unit and on the community based Mobile Screening Unit(s), Support the Breast Screening Service Manager in the management of the West Berkshire Breast Screening Service and the Symptomatic Breast Service

  • Have a complete understanding of the breast screening programme and symptomatic breast service, and be able to provided highly specialist advice on all aspects of the service

    Registration with the Health Care Professions Council

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography or equivalent recognised qualification

  • BSc Degree in Radiology or equivalent radiographic qualification, DCR(R), Evidence of recent and extensive post-registration experience within a Breast Screening Service

  • Proven clinical experience in area of specialisation with experience in a wide range of imaging procedures.

  • Participation in quality assurance and clinical audit


  • Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of responsibility for supervising a process or function within a Breast Screening / Mammography department

  • Possess recognised mentorship qualification, In depth understanding of relevant national legislation & targets, and the NHS Breast Screening Programme guidelines, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
