Full Job Description

Reporting to the Route Control Manager, we have an exciting opportunity to join us in an entry level position which will give you a great grounding in Network Operations to springboard your career into more senior roles within Network Rail., I applied and became an Information Coordinator based within Operations Control at York ROC. I performed the role for a year. The experience I gained as a newcomer to the industry was invaluable. Getting an insight on the different company roles, how each role benefited and assisted another, how incidents were managed and widespread company policies. I worked with senior managers within the industry learning from them and interacting on a level that would be impossible otherwise.

This assisted me in choosing a path through signalling where I worked up from grade 2 to grade 10 SSM before returning to Control as an Incident Controller four years ago. As a developmental role and for variation in a job the information coordinator has benefitted me greatly.
