Full Job Description

Happiest at Home provides dedicated, personal home care assistance to clients, to enable them to have an excellent quality of life in their own home. You will be seeing the same client every week.

The Client

The client is a lovely 10-year-old boy with Global Development Delay, Encephalitis (Inflammation of the Brain), Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (Epilepsy) and Autism.

He lives with his mum, dad and 3-year-old brother in their family home

He is non-verbal so uses noises to communicate but can also use Makaton. He is completely mobile and can run and climb very well but has a buggy and manual wheelchair accessible for when he is fatigued or is travelling long distances.

He enjoys watching CBeebies and sitting in his sensory chair, he also loves a cuddle! He attends a special needs school and requires encouragement getting up and ready in the morning as he is not a morning person!

He can eat cut up meals independently using plastic plates and cutlery and drinks using a beaker with handles.

He enjoys eating jam or peanut butter on toast and drinking strong fruit flavoured juices. He enjoys going to the woodlands and visiting quiet areas but has no sense of awareness so must be supervised. The support is in place to assist him with prompts to get ready for school, and all aspects of care.

The client and his parents are looking for a team of CarePals who can build and establish a bond with him to work with him long term and to ensure he receives consistent, high-quality care. The family are not currently receiving any weekday support and haven't for a number of years, so would like to access this for some respite.
