our industry. As we continue to grow and improve, we are now seeking an experienced Head of Technical to lead our technical and
hygiene operations and ensure our standards are met and exceeded across our two fantastic sites in Middlesbrough. The sites are
incredibly welcoming and have a real family feel about them.

The Role:
As the dual site Head of Technical, you will be instrumental in leading and ensuring technical compliance across both our sites.
You will ensure not only customer requirements but also our internal standards and key legal obligations. You will drive
continuous improvement across the sites, focusing on key performance indicators, customer requirements, and legislation.

  • Technical Leadership: Manage the technical and hygiene functions, ensuring excellent standards and compliance throughout the

  • manufacturing process.
  • Budget Management: Set and manage the technical and hygiene budgets effectively.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Being part of the site Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will work closely them and other key group

  • business units to coordinate technical activities and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in retailer meetings, audits, and site visits, delivering the business and

  • technical strategy tailored to each customer.
  • Team Management: Oversee the site technical team on a daily basis, setting clear SMART objectives, conducting regular

  • performance reviews, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Control: Develop, manage, and improve customer joint quality plans, manage customer visits, audits, and product

  • launches.
  • Innovation Support: Support product process and design from a technical perspective, ensuring alignment with overall business

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role within the chilled food manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent managerial skills, capable of successfully leading and motivating a large technical team and developing talent.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage complex projects.

  • Outstanding communication skills, with proficiency in managing cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • A strategic thinker with a track record of delivering results through a collaborative approach.

  • UK retailer experience required, ideally M&S, Tesco, Asda, JS, Morrisons etc

  • Experience of leading retailer and certification audits.

  • Degree qualified (Food background).

  • HACCP level 3, Food Safety level 3, TACCP/Integrity.

  • Lead auditor.

  • Full UK driving licence.
