Royal HaskoningDHV has a market leading pedigree in the offshore wind sector with over 15 years of experience and 22GW of excellent project delivery track record across the UK, Europe and Asia. We are currently building on our recognised position as an environmental leader and top ranked global ports and maritime consultant to grow our offshore wind engineering development services capability to serve our established client base and enhance society globally.

This role is part of a Royal HaskoningDHV business level commitment to grow our regionally based resource teams and driver our new global led centre of excellence based in the UK for renewables engineering. We aim to grow our team of dedicated offshore wind technical personnel to service global projects and build on our excellent existing relationships with developers and clients, whilst also seeking out new opportunities and exploring emerging markets.

Role Context

This is an exciting role in a fast growing and resilient sector. As the Head of Engineering, you will be a crucial contributor in shaping the strategic direction for Royal HaskoningDHV's global offshore wind technical offering. This is a varied role requiring a mix of work acquisition, project delivery, team direction and team development working across the UK and the Netherlands supporting projects internationally.

Job Role

This role will focus on leading the offshore wind engineering consultancy team in the delivery of feasibility, concept design, FEED and owners'engineering for offshore wind farms. You'll be working closely alongside our environmental, coastal processes and maritime ports and simulation modelling consultants to deliver optimised planning and design development advisory services for our clients. Role responsibilities include:

  • Client relationship management

  • Identifying opportunities, tendering and winning work

  • Leading project delivery & project management

  • Team development

  • Managing and mentoring staff

  • Team recruitment from your network and talent development

  • Developing our service offering in the UK and internationally


  • This role might be right for you if you have some or all of the below:
  • Proactive in leading teams in response to client needs

  • Being creative with combinations of consultancy solutions

  • Able to Develop a network within the company to be the 'go-to' for engineering

  • Being confident in delivering new services to existing clients, and developing services in new regions

  • Having excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Fluent in English - speaking and written)

  • A team player, ability to get along with different personalities

  • Good presentation and bid writing skills

  • Self starter - self motivated

  • Sound commercial awareness

  • Chartered Engineer

  • Proven consultancy track record in offshore wind projects
