Full Job Description

Core duties, tasks, and responsibilities expected in the role. This includes the breadth and depth of the responsibilities to assess the level of complexity and impact.

  • supporting the delivery of the consolidated tax charge, deferred tax assets/liabilities schedules, and related financial statement disclosure notes as required by IFRS and the Group's internal Accounting Guidelines, liaising effectively with our auditors throughout;

  • supporting providing quality control of tax reporting packs in Longview and ensuring deadlines are met;


  • updating Internal Controls in respect of the Tax Reporting cycle;

  • working with Global Tax colleagues to ensure that key tax matters are appropriately reflected in the Group's consolidated tax reporting and auditor reviews are effectively resolved;

  • working closely with Finance and other parts of the Global Tax team to assess the impact that tax audits and other tax risks will have on the Group's tax provision on uncertain tax positions, ensuring provisions are supported and meet the requirements of IFRIC23; and

  • assisting with the preparation and consolidation of the tax information for presentations to the CFO and the Audit Committee.

  • Staying up to date and providing updates on tax regulations and accounting pronouncements by working across functions and regions; delivering tax research, modelling and analysis to determine impact on headline ETR due to legislative/accounting standard changes.

  • Working with others to Identify opportunities and designing and implementing changes to the process and procedures to improve the Group Tax Reporting and Compliance processes.

  • Support the development and implementation of the Group's tax governance framework, ensuring appropriate escalation of tax risk in Tax Reporting matters, including regular internal or external communications.

  • Ongoing management of the tax governance framework with relevant controls, approvals process and risk review analysis, including updating the Group's public tax strategy statement, group tax policy and designing and implementing the Group's tax transparency road map.

  • Support the management of the outsourced compliance provider for tax filings in various jurisdictions globally

  • Supporting on upskilling GBS personnel relating to tax matters.

    Experience of working within a tax team of a UK head quartered group or in an advisory role within the profession to large multinational clients

  • Good interpersonal skills and cultural awareness to build working relationships with local finance teams, the Global Business Services, advisers, and the rest of the Global Tax team

  • Strong track record of managing and delivering complex projects and managing key stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of Longview or other tax reporting software, and ERP systems such as SAP useful

  • Able to make recommendations and decisions

  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach


  • Education/ Qualifications

  • Accounting and or CTA qualified

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS


  • Travel Requirements

    The role may require occasional travel to the London Paddington or Lisbon offices.
