Job Overview

The Group FP&A team manage the financial reporting and planning processes across the Group, utilise financial and operational data to assess performance, identify insights, support decision making and forecast effectively. The key outputs include the strategic financial model, the annual Group budget, Data books supporting external reporting at half-year and year-end, Board papers on financial matters, monthly management accounts and analysis providing insight on commercial and operational matters

The role, based in London, will report into the Group Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, and be responsible, predominantly, for providing key analysis and forecasts on financial matters, produce the monthly flash, management accounts, and other management reporting topics, drafting of Board papers and support Divisional management teams.

Main Duties

  • Delivery of the monthly Group performance reporting to leadership, predominantly include P&L, balance sheet, cash/working capital and commercial analysis. This includes working closely with the Group's Divisions to deliver detailed commentary explaining the overall Group performance

  • Support with the delivery of the Group's quarterly forecasts and Annual Operating Plan

  • Support Head of Group Cash Performance on working capital and cash flow statements analysis and insights

  • Prepare presentations and reports for Executive Management and Board meetings

  • Develop data visualisations for the purposes of presenting financial data in board reports, management reports and key external presentations including analyst presentations, capital markets and financing presentations

  • Delivery of the Group financial "Data Book" to the executive management team to support all financial data requirements for external reporting events (most typically full year and half year results and trading statements)

  • Provide performance analysis for the Group Investor relations and Group Strategy teams and answer ad hoc queries to support their activity and engagements with shareholders

  • Develop ad hoc data insights and continuously improve the Group's KPI reporting

  • Support with ad hoc projects as required


  • What we are looking for
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent)

  • Must be able to work independently and be responsible for delivering outputs directly to all key stakeholders across an organisation

  • 3+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) working in financial planning and analysis, transaction services, or similar

  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Confident and self-starting individual able to provide proactive solutions to problems without requiring detailed additional review

  • The candidate should be able to identify and analyse key financial performance drivers

  • Clear and confident communicator who can understand financial data and present summary findings in clear and simple formats. Ability to make the 'complex' simple

  • Strong attention to detail, with drive to identify and implement processes improvements
