Full Job Description

The FP&A Assistant Accountant will support the Group FP&A Manager to deliver management reporting and analysis across the growing
group. Partner with the business to provide feedback and insights into performance through analysis and quality output.,

  • Detailed forecasting over short and medium term

  • Weekly cashflow reporting

  • Variance analysis to understand the company's financial performance, with a particular focus on costs

  • Analysis of multiple business units operating in different sectors

  • Support preparation of monthly reporting packs, ensuring commentary is meaningful

  • Support the annual budgeting process

  • Contribution to board presentations

  • Assist in evaluating and supporting plans for new opportunities across the group

  • Ad-hoc projects as required by the Group FP&A Manager

    Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA

  • Relevant experience in finance team as assistant accountant or similar

  • Analytical skills including good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables and lookups)


  • Desirable

  • Relevant experience within professional services company and or PE backed business

  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flows

  • Experience in or working alongside an FP&A team


  • Technical, training & skill levels

  • Effective use of IT including Excel, Word, Outlook and good knowledge of a finance system

  • Manages own workload and time effectively to meet internal and external deadlines

  • Proactive nature to resolve issues and queries

  • Attention to detail and problem solving

  • Commercially minded and ability to identify areas to add value

  • Effective communication and people skills, ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
