Full Job Description

Are you a Technical Accountant who takes pride in detailed accurate reporting? This is an exciting opportunity to work in an established and growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring all income and liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reviewed. You will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, journals, tax returns with shared responsibilities of creating monthly management accounts alongside the management accountant.

Being a diverse business, the individual appointed will require to be adaptable, capable to prioritise and comfortable operating across multiple industries.,

  • Responsibility for VAT returns, HMRC returns and other statutory reporting.

  • Assist with statutory accounts and year end audit process.

  • Assist in continuous improvements in internal controls and financial reporting.

  • Maintain the integrity of transactions within the general ledger to ensure the accurate production of financial reports.

  • Responsibility for the balance sheet account reconciliation process, ensuring reconciliations are performed and outstanding items are actioned in a timely manner.

  • Working to month-end timetable with management accountant and working to tight reporting deadlines.

  • Working closely with management accountant and commercial finance teams.

  • Assist with internal audits and financial process reviews.

  • Creating and maintaining policy documents.

  • Additional ad-hoc tasks as required.

    Minimum of 5 years' accountancy experience

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA qualification

  • Excellent IT Skills including Excel.

  • Experience on Sage X3 or similar.

  • Analytical ability & high level of numeracy

  • Confidence in interrogating complex systems and in building reports.

  • Strong commercial and skills and confident in working closely with the operational team to improve performance.

  • To be logical, precise, and accurate

  • Be self-motivated and practical, with a `can-do` attitude.

  • Be adaptable to change and be able to lead others through change effectively.

  • The ability to supervise and manage more junior team members.

  • Proactive with great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
