Finance Assistant (Part / Full Time)

Although we are well established within our market, we are proud of our start-up culture of collaboration and ingenuity. We have created a culture of continuous improvement and are in the process of implementing changes to support the automation of the accounting function where appropriate. We are now looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team on a full or part time basis to support the Head of Finance across a range of intrinsic bookkeeping/accounting services.

The Day to Day

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Finance and will provide the following bookkeeping/accounting services:

• Posting bank transactions and purchase invoices daily through the automated process.


• Processing sales invoices when new contracts have been agreed and updating the automated invoicing when contract details change.


• Managing the credit control process - chasing overdue sales invoices and dealing with customer accounting queries.


• Liaising with the Account Management and Sales teams.


• Preparing the weekly payment run.


• Bank account reconciliations.


• Balance sheet nominal ledger reconciliations.


• Ad hoc projects to improve systems and processes and improve the efficiency of the Finance Department
  
  Either fully AAT qualified or part-qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA


• 2 years'+ experience within a similar varied role in an SME.


• Experience of using accounting software is essential, preferably Xero.


• Accuracy and attention to detail.


• Proactive and able to manage own time.


• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Able to work as part of a small team but also happy to work independently.


And if you have any of the following, even better:

• Experience working in a service sector or accounting practice.


• Experience of working with different currencies.


• Experience working with customer and supplier portals.


Work Pattern

For this position we are flexible on work pattern, and will accept applications from those looking for both full time and part time work (3 full days or equivalent). Please specify which would suit you best., Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in office per week.

£25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience, pro rata.
