Full Job Description

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining efficient operation of the forehearth and feeder equipment during the job change process, making required changes and adjustments to the equipment to suit the new job.

  • Complete and update the JO JO (Job On Job Off) to provide an accurate reference point.

  • Carry out maintenance work on forehearth and feeders, checking, cleaning and changing equipment to maintain efficient operations. Record maintenance work carried out on Maintenance Sheets to provide a reference point.

  • Identify any malfunctions with the forehearth and feeder; repair if possible or refer to necessary personnel in order to minimise downtime

  • Monitor the operation of the forehearth and feeder, responding to any alarms and making required changes and adjustments to achieve and maintain efficient operation

  • Prepare refractory equipment in order to maintain the availability of spare equipment.

  • Respond to any container defects detected in hot and cold end making necessary changes to forehearth and feeder equipment, in order to minimise the occurrence of container defects.

    Understanding of Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and Company Hygiene Rules and Procedures

  • Understanding of Container Defects

  • Good working knowledge of the principles of efficient feeder operation relating to: Gob Weight; Gob Loading; Cam Selection; Shears & Shearing Operations; Gob Accelerator System

  • Understanding of forehearth operation, maintenance and equipment: Refractory Equipment; Burners; Combustion Ratios; Fans and Filters; Jacking Operation; Firing Related Equipment

  • Understanding of procedures relating to: Start and Stop and Power Failure

    Salary dependant on experience
