Full Job Description
We are seeking to recruit a Family Support Worker at HMPYOI Deerbolt. The successful candidates will work in conjunction with prison and other partner agencies.
As a Family Support Worker - Early Days in Custody's key purpose is to proactively respond to the needs of prisoners / families to troubleshoot issues (around contact, visits, family breakdown, Safeguarding, impact on children / dependent adults) within the first two weeks of custody. Referrals are generated through the Visitors' Centre, Nepacs' helpline, the Prison reception and induction wing and from Basic Custody Screening tool assessments. The Family Support Worker will also provide 1:1 case work support as required.
Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience of working with families and disadvantaged groups in a multi-agency environment and/or a relevant degree or qualification in social care and a passion for making a difference.
