Full Job Description

When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, we're among the first to respond. From making a cup of tea to trekking through snow and sleet to deliver the essentials, we work with other organisations to do what's needed straight away. We are looking for volunteers who: - Are able to reach the base at Gloucester South Fire Station (GL4 0PZ) within 45 minutes. - Can volunteer a minimum of 24 hours per month on the flexible 24/7 rota doing either 1 x 6 hour shift per week or 2 x 12 hours per month. - Can attend the monthly team meeting. - Are able to support with equipment/vehicle maintenance (carrying out weekly/monthly checks) when required. - Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive vehicles in the UK. - Have access to your own vehicle and be willing to drive a British Red Cross vehicle, which is usually a large van, SUV or 4x4. - Can undertake the required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of
volunteering (please see details in the Learning Pathway attached) plus other service specific trainings as required.
