Full Job Description

The Email Marketing Manager is accountable for creating and delivering email marketing strategies that support our business goals, enhance brand awareness and nurture valuable client relationships.

The individual will be responsible for developing the strategy and innovation roadmap including how we mature to automation and define efficient processes, alongside managing the deployment of all email sends in the UK.

The role sits as part of the Digital Marketing team and will collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders.

Reporting to : Digital Marketing Lead

Line Manage : 1 x Assistant Email Marketing Manager and 1 x Email Marketing Executive

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive email marketing strategy aligned with the firm's overall goals and objectives.

  • Drive innovation and lead the adoption of new email marketing automation processes streamlining processes and maximising efficiency.

  • Craft compelling and targeted email campaigns that resonate with different audience segments and drive desired actions.

  • Develop an email performance metric framework to monitor performance and continuously optimise.

  • Effectively manage and collaborate with stakeholders including business partners, brand and risk compliance, creative teams and marketing teams.


  • Acting as an ambassador for best practice email marketing activity.
  • Develop an A / B testing programme to ensure growth and effective email performance.

  • Create and maintain a robust email activity calendar to aid audience cross-over and help track volume, capacity and performance.

  • Performance and line manage an Assistant Email Marketing Manager and Email Marketing Executive, building a positive culture of growth and development within the team and supporting them in their day-to-day initiatives.

  • Provide strategic direction and additional development support to the offshore email team and be an escalation point for them - aiding in key decisions, such as prioritisation and approach.

  • Partner closely with the MarTech team to ensure any technical capabilities and / or optimisations are included in release cycles.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, best practices, regulation, and innovation., This position will largely be based from home with a need to be in the office for team meetings in either Reading or London.


  • With 20 sites across the UK, we can potentially facilitate office work, working from home, flexible hours, and part-time options.

  • Strong strategic email marketing experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding professional environment.

  • Proven experience of delivering end-to-end high performing email campaigns from strategy to execution.

  • Experience with email deployment platforms; Marketo is essential, and Adobe Campaign advantageous.

  • Proficiency in CRM and marketing automation technology

  • Experience with deliverability and rendering tools, such as Everest or Litmus

  • Experience with reporting tools / platforms, such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics

  • Experience of line management including development and empowerment of individuals.

  • Ability to design and execute A / B or multivariate testing and implement email optimisations.

  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills ensuring timely and successful delivery of email campaigns, including overseeing multiple campaigns and able to manage competing deadlines.

  • Constantly reviewing better ways of doing things and leveraging tech and digital platforms to deliver high performing campaigns and activities.

  • Experience with HTML / CSS (preferred, but not required)

  • Experience with request management tools, such as Workfront (preferred, but not required)
