Full Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team as an Electrical Tester, specializing in carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in the Swansea, Newport & Cardiff area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring electrical safety and compliance, contributing to the maintenance of high-quality electrical systems for our clients., EICR Inspections: Conduct thorough and accurate Electrical Installation Condition Reports in accordance with prevailing regulations and standards, such as BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). Identify potential hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues within electrical installations.

Testing and Diagnosis: Utilize appropriate testing equipment and tools to perform meticulous electrical testing, fault finding, and diagnosis. Clearly explain findings and recommended actions to clients.

Documentation: Prepare comprehensive EICR reports outlining inspection results, observations, and recommended actions. Maintain accuracy, clarity, and compliance with reporting standards.

Safety and Compliance: Prioritize safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Stay updated with the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure inspections align with legal and safety requirements.

Communication: Foster effective communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Collaborate with clients to elucidate inspection outcomes and discuss implications of findings and proposed solutions.

Problem Solving: Analyse intricate electrical systems and installations to identify potential issues and propose suitable solutions. Approach challenges with creativity, especially within time-sensitive contexts.

Client Relations: Establish and cultivate positive client relationships by exemplifying professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and adeptly.

Time Management: Efficiently manage your work schedule to meet inspection deadlines while maintaining high standards of work quality. Prioritize tasks and adapt to evolving project requirements.

  • Certified Electrician with pertinent qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).

  • Proven experience conducting EICRs and electrical testing in diverse residential and commercial settings.

  • Proficiency in current electrical regulations, including BS 7671 and relevant industry standards.

  • Proficient in employing electrical testing equipment and tools for fault finding and diagnosis.

  • Strong communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal abilities, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical clients.

  • Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, thorough reports.

  • Astute problem-solving skills and adeptness at working autonomously and collaboratively.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Swansea to perform inspections.
