Full Job Description

1. Customer Service:

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

- Handle customer inquiries, providing accurate information or directing them to the appropriate staff member.

2. Dispensing Medications:

- Learn and assist in the dispensing of prescription medications under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist.

- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and ethical standards.

3. Stock Management:

- Assist in the management of pharmacy stock, including receiving, unpacking, and storing medication deliveries.

- Monitor stock levels and assist in regular stock checks.

4. Administrative Duties:

- Help with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and updating patient profiles.

- Handle prescription requests and liaise with healthcare professionals as needed.

5. Health Promotion:

- Assist in health promotion activities, including providing advice on over-the-counter medications, measuring blood pressure, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

6. Learning and Development:

- Attend and actively participate in training sessions.

- Study towards and successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician qualification.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Pharmacy services Assistant Level 2. This training will be conducted primarily at the employer's site.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprentice L2 Candidate who must have a positive attitude, be hardworking, well presented with good communication skills. Prior pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided on the job., Desired skills and Personal qualities

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in pharmacy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality., GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent (Grade 4) desired.
