Dispenser

Fressingfield Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a qualified dispenser to join our friendly, supportive and very well-respected GP practice. This is a part time role, for 30 hours a week, working various weekday shifts between 8:30am and 6:30pm.There is some flexibility regarding hours. The successful candidate will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team.

If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you.,

• Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GP's and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme;


• Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions, to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor;


• Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient;


• Process Hospital Letters;


• Process Dossett Boxes;


• Manage ordering stock and stock control;


• Preparation of monthly returns to the Prescription Pricing Bureau;


• Answer and deal withdispensary phone enquiries;


• Monitor patients exemption status;


• Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication;


• Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager.
