Full Job Description

I am his sister. My brother is almost 13 years old, has Autism and is non-speaking. He has been allocated funding by Wrexham Council for respite, 6 hours during term time (this would be required on a Saturday or Sunday, day is flexible as is timing.) and 10 hours during non term time (we'd like this split over two days, again Saturday or Sunday and a day in the week, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.)

My brother loves to be outside. He spends lots of time walking at local places such as Alyn Waters, Moss Valley, Delamere Forest, Llandegla Forest, Nant Mill, Marford Quarry, Hafod Quarry and more!

He also has a National Trust Membership, Chester Zoo Membership and Greenacres Farm membership.

My brother loves rides, this includes fairground rides and small theme park rides (Drayton Manor). He also loves the water park in Stoke-on-Trent.

He had a bus pass that allows him and a carer to travel free. He also loves being on trains and even loves the miniature train in Gresford.

We're looking for a candidate that is patient, kind, nurturing and enjoys being outdoors.

My brother can display challenging behaviours, this includes meltdowns and can include physical behaviour towards himself and others. Candidates would need to be confident in managing these situations with support and guidance from the family. He also has very little awareness of danger, he needs close supervision at all times.

He also has a Peanut, Nut and Egg allergy - this would be discussed later in the process and training could be provided.
