Full Job Description

This role will see you form an essential part of the hotel's executive leadership team, working as a figurehead for people and culture on site, you'll be tasked with ensuring a first-class employee experience, from onboarding to performance and capability through to offboarding.

You will be accountable for the delivery of HR and People strategy and development of the team.

You'll be the first line of contact for our colleagues, ensuring a robust recruitment and retention strategy is implemented within the business, with an eye on developing and retaining future talent.

You will ensure all colleague training is up to date and a culture of team engagement is fostered throughout the business across all areas of the hotel.

You'll work closely with the established off-site HR Shared Services team to deliver quick resolution to common and complex HR queries.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the hotel's overall People objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior management to identify HR priorities and areas for improvement.

  • Ensure the management team are fully supportive of the hotel's HR and People strategy.


  • 2. Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Oversee the recruitment process, making sure HODs respond to candidates in a timely and professional fashion.

  • Develop effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the hospitality industry.


  • 3. Employee Relations:

  • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.

  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.


  • 4. Performance Management:

  • Implement performance management systems to monitor and evaluate employee performance.

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance improvement and development plans.


  • 5. Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.

  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure that employees receive the necessary training and development opportunities.

  • Adherence to the Aimbridge Training Calendar to ensure monthly training is completed in a timely manner.

  • Utilise training systems such as Litmos/ IHG myLearning to streamline and enhance the training process.


  • 6. Compensation and Benefits:

  • Manage the hotel's compensation and benefits programs, such as employee benefits, and incentives.

  • Ensure that compensation and benefits are competitive and in line with industry standards.


  • 7. Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.

  • Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and advise management on compliance requirements.

  • Operate the property consistent with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements and documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards, host management practices and budgetary controls are implemented, reviewed and maintained to ensure the successful operation of the hotel.

    Experience in HR management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Fourth and Litmos is desired.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to think outside the box and be open to new ideas.
