Full Job Description

We are seeking a Digital Business Specialist to join our Hannover Re UK Branch. Within Hannover Re, you are part of the Life & Health Digital Business Accelerator (L&H DBA).

The L&H DBA is a high-performing team, established to advance digital business opportunities for our network of 26 offices.

As a Digital Business Specialist you will i) build up partnerships to create new (re)insurance solutions ii) scale up digital solutions into new geographies iii) present on digital Life and Health insurance trends.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with experience working in a complex global environment. You will also have a solid technical understanding of Life & Health (re)insurance.

The position will suit an individual with a project management, consulting or other innovation background with experience scaling digital innovation within the Life and Health (re)insurance sector.

Your Profile

  • Develop Group-wide strategic digital innovation partnerships with insurtechs and insurers.

  • Act as a trusted internal consultant to support our Group-wide network to assess new partnership opportunities and to scale existing digital assets into new markets / geographies.

  • Present to internal stakeholders and the wider market on digital innovation topics.

  • Lead and deliver meetings, workshops and programmes of work on innovation and digital topics.

  • Deploy technical and stakeholder management skills to deliver client-focused, value-creating propositions.

  • Drive forward the strategic digital vision of Hannover Re through analysing market trends and players in the insurance industry and seeking input from internal teams to assess the implication of these on our business.

  • Continuously adapt approach and framework to share successes and lessons learned.

  • Analyse and report to management on core KPIs from strategic projects.

    c. 10+ years' experience in the Life & Health (re)insurance sector or experience working for a consulting, technology or other company serving the L&H insurance sector.

  • Previous experience scaling digital innovation within the insurance sector.

  • Knowledge of the insurtech ecosystem and experience of building partnerships with technology companies, start-ups and established players.

  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience communicating and influencing key stakeholders in a complex global environment, including strong presentation skills.


  • Desired skills and experience :
  • A strong understanding of how digitalisation is impacting the Life & Health insurance value chain.

  • Experience applying innovation methodologies to insurance product development.

  • Project management experience with a particular focus on business case development, project mobilisation and quality assurance.

  • A track record of taking responsibility and ownership for innovation initiatives.

  • Experience with tools such as MS Office, Atlassian (Confluence / Jira), Salesforce, Miro
